How to Wear / Fit

Can't get help.

"Set up a personal appointment but only got a video to watch that we had already watched. Suppose to fit 2 inches larger than my knee. I cant get my 17 and one half inch knee in it. Disappointed! May have to return the brace."

Remarkable difference

"My husband has a badly hyperextended knee from his stroke. Has been told a knee replacement is not an option. It has caused lower back, hip, and knee pain. He was given a rx for a hinged brace with metal on each side. . . made him a little more stable but didnt help with his limp or pain, and still needed a cane. This brace is amazing. His knee is almost completely straight. He has the slightest of limp and doesnt "wobble" when he walks. He has become less dependent on his cane, and has considerably less pain on his hip and back. He also appreciates that it isnt hot and binding."

Finally a brace that is big enough.

"After 1 year and 5 orthopedic appointments, no one was able to help me. Even after finding the cage style construction brace, no company offered a brace big enough for me. I had given up. There have to be large men out there needing this type of brace. Then I tripped across the Brace Direct site. I measured 24 inches but decided to try the largest you had. It just fit. I am presently working with a physical therapist for support and hope to be successful. Thank you Brace Direct. J. Buchwald"

Bought for hypertension of both kbees

"PT specialists recommended due to hypertension of both knees. Hypertension was result of lack of balance, resulting in the hypertension issue. At first they seemed a bit bulky, cumbersome and awkward to get used to (I think this was to be expected, it’s not a criticism). After a few days of using them at PT and at home, these are sort of forcing my brain/leg muscles to relearn how to properly stand, walk, maneuver more normally. They are forcing the muscles in my ankle areas, legs, butt and maybe even my core to do what they’re supposed to do, rather than locking out my knees, which I assume is not good, long-term for my gait and ligaments in my knees. I’m in the early stages with these braces, but I am very pleased with the initial results and expect continued positive results. I’m sore in muscle areas I did not expect (which I assume is a good thing - making muscles do what they’re supposed to do, rather than hypextending my knees for balance). I haven’t had the experience of other braces, but there was a doctor that wrote a similar review from personal experience and he stated these are the best he’d ever used. I would agree. My knees already feel better. My advice is to give them at least a few days to get used to. Walk around the house for a few days before forming an opinion. Find the right tension thats right for you, let your body adapt and go for it. Whoever manufactured these has my gratitude!"
